The Continental’s case and bracelet are treated to approximately 1200 HV, compared with roughly 150–200 HV for untreated 316L stainless steel, providing dramatically greater resistance to everyday scratches and wear. Polished surfaces still benefit from the treatment, but may show fine scuffs more readily than brushed areas due to their reflective finish.
