A Dive in The 1960s

At its core, the Marinor collection has always been a tribute to classic dive watch designs, reinterpreted with thoughtful historical references and vintage-inspired elements. We've explored the classic vintage dive watch with the Marinor Classic and the military diver with the Marinor Ghost.

Now the Marinor Rainbow transports the collection into the groovy 1960s, embracing one of the era’s defining dive watch features: the decompression scale, commonly seen on the so-called "Rainbow Divers."

fun follows function

decompression timer dial

Decompression scale dive watches, popularized by Mido, Buler, Cornavin, and Vulcain, were essential tools for divers. Their multi-colored scales weren’t just aesthetic—they provided a quick visual reference for depth levels. As divers descended, water absorbed different light wavelengths, causing colors to fade. This made the scales a practical way to associate depths with required stop times, helping prevent decompression sickness.

With a retro rainbow palette and a two-layer "sandwich" dial construction, the Marinor Rainbow blends serious diving heritage with the artistic energy of the era.

Using the rainbow scale

As depth increases, water absorbs light at different wavelengths—red fades at 20m (66ft), yellow at 27m (89ft), and green at 46m (150ft). This spectral attenuation made high-contrast dials and decompression scales essential for divers.

A virtually scratch-proof Experience

1200 hv HARDENED STEEL

The case and bracelet of the Marinor are made out of 316L (Marine-Grade) Stainless Steel in a brushed finish, an obvious choice for dive watches due to its corrosion resistance and high durability.

However, the Marinor undergoes a laborious hardening treatment, rendering the watch virtually scratch-proof.

The scratch resistance is taken further with the choice of sapphire crystal; a material known for its scratch resistance, durability, and water resistance.

A watch you can wear with pride

"Gorgeous watch, and a fitting tribute to what I studied here in Canada, since that's where it's made. You get a lot for the price point — microadjustment at this level is hard to come by. The lume colour and brightness are fantastic, the movement is Japanese, bezel clicks are crisp, the bracelet is quick-release, and it's topped off with a sapphire crystal. The carrying case is solid too. Heron really delivered with this one."

Incredible Customer Service

"The team at Heron has given me nothing but the best customer service possible and provided an heirloom quality watch I'm pleased to put on every morning. Adam has gone above and beyond for me answering all my questions over the last couple years. Of all the watches in my collection, this one is the most personal for me."

Unique Decompression Jem

"Photos don't do the Rainbow justice. In hand it's striking, the sandwich dial pulls the eye, the retro decompression scale adds a great pop of color. The domed sapphire bezel and crystal give it a unique almost vintage silhouette. The bezel action was a nice surprise! The bracelet feels incredible for this price point, screwed links, quick release, and a micro-adjustment system that actually works. It wears like something that costs way more. For the price it's my opinion this is one of the most underrated watches in this space. Decompression scale divers with this kind of style and build quality are genuinely rare. I'll be keeping this one forever."

Exceptional Craftsmanship and Timeless Design

"I recently received my Marinor. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and overall quality are truly outstanding. From the finishing to the design, every element feels carefully considered and executed to a very high standard. What impressed me most is how special the watch feels on the wrist. It’s not only a beautiful timepiece but also one that carries meaning and significance every time I wear it. The entire experience exceeded my expectations, and I can confidently say this is a watch I will cherish for many years to come. I look forward to seeing more exceptional pieces from Heron in the future."

Great service and beautiful watch!

"I had an email conversation with Adam from Heron before receiving my watch and he was very accommodating and helpful. The watch itself is both very tool like and feels robust but also fancy and beautiful. Very pleased with my purchase!"

Beautiful watch! Great Experience!

"I wanted to choose a unique watch for my husband’s birthday. After months of scrolling I found Heron Watches. It took a bit for me to finally choose but I settled on the Rainbow Watch and I couldn’t be happier…and neither could he. He hasn’t had it off since he received it. He has a large collection (including some very beautiful pricey options) but I can tell this watch has quickly become a favourite. He loves the size (he has a smaller wrist) and the all the little details…things I hadn’t noticed when looking at them online. It is a sturdy feeling watch and I know he will have it on all summer when we are on our boat. Thank you Heron!"
